Updates on Star Wars: Rebels season 4 info!

Last week we were given an article straight from StarWars.com with the episode titles and airing dates for the first half of the 4th and final season of Star Wars: Rebels, which you can see here. (I have already written up a post covering that, which you can read here, if you have not done so already.)

Since then, we’ve been able to find out more little bits on what the last season will hold.

First, Den of Geek has updated their page on the last season of the the show, and included episode descriptions for the first two episodes (both of these are “two-parters”, so if we’re being technical that’s actually four episodes).

Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Episode 1: Heroes of Mandalore Pt. 1

The rebels work together with Clan Wren to free Sabine’s father from the clutches of the Empire on Mandalore. However, deadly consequences await them at the end.

This description is the same for both parts of “Heroes of Mandalore”, which will air back-to-back starting at 12:30 a.m. ET on Monday, October 16.

Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Episode 3: In the Name of Rebellion Pt. 1

After Saw Gerrera informs the Rebellion of a shipment of Kyber Crystals in the hands of the Galactic Empire, Hera sends Ezra, Zeb and Sabine to steal it.

Just as before, both parts of this episode have the same description, and will air back-to-back starting 12:30 a.m. ET on Monday, October 23.

You can read their full page on season 4 of Rebels, including a spoiler-free review of the first half of the premier episode, “Heroes of Mandalore” (which was shown at Star Wars Celebration Orlando earlier this year) here: “Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Release Date, Trailer, Episode Guide, & Everything Else We Know” from Den of Geek.

Next up, the air dates for the episodes from the first half of the season have been added to zap2it, and from that we’ve been able to find out the episode descriptions for two of the episodes that will air right before the mid-season break.

Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Episode 7: Kindred

Tracked back to their hidden base by a mysterious Imperial agent, the rebels must trust some seemingly dangerous native creatures, who are far more than meets the eye.

This episode will air back-to-back with episode 8 (“Crawler Commandeers”) starting at 12:30 a.m. ET on Monday, November 6.

Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Episode 8: Crawler Commandeers

Desperate to contact Rebel command, the Ghost crew pirates a mining vehicle with long range communications gear, but the Empire arrives to spoil their plans.

This episode will air directly after episode 7 (“Kindred”) on Monday, November 6.

You can see the full episode guide from zap2it here: Star Wars: Rebels episode guide, season 2017.

One interesting note is that there is a slight difference between the spelling on the name from episode 8. StarWars.com lists it as “Crawler Commandeers”, which is what I used here, but the episode guide on zap2it lists it instead as “Crawler Commanders”.

So far, we have very little information on what the couple of episodes in between “In the Name of the Rebellion” and “Kindred” will hold, but based on information we have from Dave Filoni and others from Lucasfilm, plus the hints from the trailer and episode titles, we can suppose that they will deal with the beginning of this same mission the Ghost crew is on during episodes 7 and 8, which seems to deal with Lothal and Grand Admiral Thrawn’s TIE Defenders. This seems to be hinted at in the titles of episodes 5 and 6, “The Occupation” and “Flight of the Defender”. We’ve been told that the latter parts of this season will be extremely connected, maybe even more serialized than the arcs of Star Wars: The Clones Wars, which is often praised for its tight-knit storylines spanning multiple episodes. Also, it was revealed at the Star Wars: Rebels panel at Fan Expo Canada not long ago that the first several episodes of season 4 would wrap up loose ends from season 3, and from then on would mainly center on wrapping up the story of the show’s central character, Jedi-in-training Ezra Bridger, as well of the story of his home planet, Lothal, which has been an overarching theme throughout the entire run of the show.

What do you think about these new tidbits? Are you looking forward or hoping for something in particular for this last season? Let me know in the comments below!
