New Forces of Destiny trailer!! + airing schedule

The trailer for the second set of Forces of Destiny episodes is out!!

Forces of Destiny, a new branch of the Star Wars universe from Lucasfilm featuring 2D animated shorts, has just had a new trailer for its second set of episodes released!

This new trailer showcases the return of some of our favorite heroes who were already featured in first season of the the series (like Sabine Wren, Rey, Padmé Amidala, Ahsoka Tano and her master Anakin Skywalker, and Princess Leia Organa), as well as some new faces to the platform, though not to fans: Hera Syndulla, Ketsu Onyo, Han Solo, and a certain “big deal” called Finn, as well as the not-so-pleasant visage of Nima Outpost’s famed junk dealer, Unkar Plutt.

I have to admit, there’s one point in this trailer that caused me to immediately start up the fangirl tradition of “squee-ing” the moment my brain registered what I was seeing. It’s something many fans have speculated about for quite a while now, and seeing it become a reality is amazing. I’m pretty sure many of you know right off what I’m speaking of. 😉

More info on the air times and details on the actors involved in the series were announced on the Star Wars offical website.

The half-hour specials will air on Sunday, October 1 and Sunday, October 29 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Channel and the Disney Channel App, and feature a total of eight never-before-seen installments. Many of the original talents behind the characters have reprised their roles, including Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’o, Felicity Jones, Tiya Sircar, Ashley Eckstein, Vanessa Marshall, Catherine Taber, and Matt Lanter, among others. Following the specials, these new shorts will also launch on Disney YouTube.

Lucasfilm publicist Tracy Cannobbio hopped on Twitter to clarify some things about how this new set of episodes will be released: first through two, half-hour specials on Dinsey XD, then later through individual releases on YouTube (which was the manner in which the first set was released). Here are some of her tweets that will hopefully help to make sense of the slightly complicated release schedule:

What do you think of the new trailer? What are your thoughts on this new series so far? Have a favorite moment from any of it, from the current episodes to trailer to the readers? Let me know in the comments!

Excuse me while I keyboard-slam for a moment. AHSBFGJJFKDJDHFJCKAKCJSJDJSJCMDNFJFJFJRNCNJFJFJFFHDFJ aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!#! JYN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND SABINE!!!!!!!!!! TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!! IM DYING!!!!!!!#! No but seriously, I have been hoping for so long that Jyn might’ve met the Ghost crew at some point, and when I heard that Saw would be back in Rebels S4, I had to do some math to figure out if maybe we could get a Jyn cameo. (Yeah, no on that one. If he left her when she was 16, and S4 is about a a year before/overlapping with the R1 timeline… But we could still totally see Cassian, and we know he was a Fulcrum agent at some point…) BUT JYN AND SABINE MEETING!!!!! And based off the Rebels novelizations and the Rogue One novelization, they’re almost exactly the same age, so that’s gonna be SO STINKING COOL!!!!!!!!!

Yes!! I seriously can not wait to see this next set of episodes!! We discussed this (and the Jyn and Sabine part!) quite a bit in my recording last night, so I know you’ll definitely enjoy that episode once I release it. 😉 😀

Good question! As far as I know, we aren’t yet sure as to what time period that episode will take place in, and wasn’t Jyn only in the prison camp for no more than a year prior to Rogue One (at least, that’s pretty much what Rebel Rising seemed to be saying; I took notes on that book, I need to look them up and see if I have anything about this…)
