The Elven Padawan podcast is back from hiatus!
Shay is joined by fellow teen fangirl, Grace, who also happens to be an up-and-coming fan artist. As you’ve come to expect from this podcast, the episode starts out with a review of the most recent Star Wars news; they review the most recent batch of Forces of Destiny shorts and discuss whether they believe these are “necessary” additions to the Star Wars franchise; they cover the announcement of Star Wars Resistance, their ideas on the new style for the show, and which returning characters they would most like to see come into play; and with the premire of Solo: A Star Wars Story only a short way ahead, they discuss their feelings towards the film, and the characters of Han Solo and Lando Calrissian in general.
Finally, in honor of Mother’s Day, they discuss some of the great mother characters throughout the saga, with a special emphasis on Leia Organa and Hera Syndulla. They also fail miserably with any attempt to NOT rant for a half hour about Star Wars Rebels.

- Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel by James Luceno on Amazon
- Star Wars: Thrawn by Timothy Zahn on Amazon
- Aceofstars16 on Archive of Our Own. She’s got tons of fantastic Rebels fics, some long and some short; she’s done some recent stuff with Ezra’s return and that much-need Mother-Son hug between Hera and Ezra. But she’s also got some great Marvel Cinematic Universe fics (beware major spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War!!), and other series. Read them all, you won’t regret it! (Though I’m warning you: they’re full of feels!) I also interviewed Ace on the podcast a little while back, and it was a great episode!! Whoo, those are some good fan fiction pieces!!! The ones with Mira Wren-Bridger especially. Have you girls tried to write any?

Aren’t they great?? Ace is my favorite fan fiction writer, and I was so excited to get her on the podcast several episodes back. She’s so much fun to talk to, and such a nice person in general. 😊
I have actually written all of one short fan fiction. It doesn’t even have any dialog. 😁 It’s about two characters from Star Wars: Bloodline, taking place sometime after the book ends but before The Force Awakens. Who knows, maybe I’ll publish it here or on AO3 at some point…

They ARE great! You, Ace, and Audrey all have talent. You need a little practice, but the three of you definitely have the “write stuff” to become fiction authors in the future.
I wouldn’t worry about the fact that your fan fic piece has no dialogue. Ace’s story “Scars” didn’t have any dialogue, from what I remember of it, and it was still enjoyable. If you DO public it, there will be a reader here waiting to see it! 😉
